Wanna Try QuickBooks®?
About Us
Hi fellow readers, Taylor here again to grace your week with a little knowledge and probably a much-needed break!
I wonder if you can relate with me on something…have you ever run into a project that you just didn’t know how to start or found yourself needing a little push to get your creative juices flowing? Do you wish you knew who on your team was naturally gifted at doing all these things (and much more) at the drop of a hat?
So, I know you all know me as the quirky tie-dye wearing accountant, but despite my adventurous spirit, earlier this year I found myself struggling with my day-to-day routine, especially when it came to getting my day started. I wasn’t as focused as I wanted to be, I didn’t have the energy to work on my business and let’s not even mention the fact that I had 0 time to devote to learning new skills to support my marketing and IT teams. I also found my personal responsibilities start to slip because by the end of my day or by the time the weekend rolled around; all my brain could commit to was “relaxing.”
The final session of the Accounting Therapy Summer School blog series has arrived! It’s been a blast highlighting different small business owners we’ve had the pleasure of working with and extracting all the golden nuggets of info from their expert brains!
For our last session, and surely not one to disappoint, we have IT guru, Tony Musorafite, owner and founder of PC Parlor in Torrance, CA. Tony also doubles as Alexis’ dad (we like to keep it in the family whenever possible)! Tony has over 35 years of experience in tech related fields and has had his business in Torrance since 2000.
For this month’s guest teacher, we are super excited to introduce you to LeiLani Quiray, Founder & CEO of be the change HR, a human resources consulting firm servicing small to mid-size businesses. be the change HR is all about driving the change they wish to see in the world, not only through their excellent HR knowledge, but through philanthropy as well. The company channels 1% of their top line revenue to their Job Readiness Program, which provides free classes and coaching to human trafficking survivors and those transitioning out of homelessness. Dang, now that’s a trend we could all follow a little more closely!
Welcome to month two of our Summer School Blog Series!
This month we are spotlighting all things tax… just when you thought tax time was over, right?! Well, think again! Our guest teacher this month is Kelli Cox of CGC Accountants and Advisors! We have worked with Kelli in many different capacities over the years, including having shared clients (we do the books, she does the tax planning & filing), as a consultant (invoking Kelli’s expert knowledge on business structure & our own tax strategy!), and as a peer (in mastermind groups focused on growing each of our small businesses!)… and let’s just say folks, Kelli does not disappoint on any front!
Hello to all our lovely readers out there & Happy Summer!! Well, we guess it’s not quite officially summer yet, but Memorial Day is right around the corner, so we’re just going to go ahead and declare it summer in Accounting Therapy Land!
And with that – we’re also going to sign you up for summer school – but with a twist!
This blog goes out to all our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) users out there! Can I get a what, what?!
So, you’re still in desktop! The question is… why? Perhaps there are features that are holding you hostage (this mainly only applies to our Enterprise subscribers), or perhaps the move is just daunting, and you don’t even know where to start. Or maybe it’s a payroll issue... if you change, how in the world could that possibly go smoothly to ensure your team gets paid on time?
We get it. Change can be scary. But my friends, the changes are coming no matter what. So, will you be leading the change? Or will you be a victim of the change? Our choice (always) is to lead it. Leading means you’re in control, you call the shots, you create the schedule. Which is why we are going to try and empower you to lead your change when it comes to QuickBooks Desktop!
Ahh, vacation. Such a magical word, right? Just thinking about it conjures up thoughts of white sand, turquoise waters, and enjoying a nice spritz while basking in the tropical sun.🏖️ But for all our entrepreneurs, small business owners, workaholics, & company leaders out there, does it also bring a feeling of anxiety? Of wondering who is going to answer your emails? Who is going to support your team? How behind will you be when you return? And worst of all, how much time will you spend actually working on your vacation?🤢
